This will just have my ideas on possible modes. It'll be a list, so here:
- Story Mode - This will be the actual story line, containing as all the special abilities and items.
- Versus Mode - This would be a free-for-all type internet-based mode, where players fight each other with Syg, and other future characters. Modes and items would vary with game settings. There could be a level system to boost the competition and replay value.
- Arena Mode - Syg is thrown into a classic arena, and a black hole will time him, as well as be his fate. The player has extended access to MachSyg and has to destroy as many enemies as possible within the time limit. There is no end to arena mode, so it is impossible to "win," but would mainly be used to test the player's skills or for the leaderboards. Online-based leaderboards. Special items or perks could be unlocked in Story Mode or Versus Mode through completing in-game goals.
- Trek Mode - Syg is brought into space and has to speed across Earth as fast as he can to obtain awesome prizes. The player has extended access to SubSyg, and must travel at unbelievable speeds to reach his goal, whether it's collect a special item, or just to see how far they can get before the time runs out. Distances would be recorded in the leaderboards. Online-based leaderboards. Special items or perks could be unlocked in Story Mode or Versus Mode through completing in-game goals.
- Time Attack - The player can choose any stage within Story Mode to see how fast they can beat it. A ghost of one of my fastest/slowest attempts will boost the competition and provide unlockables by beating the ghosts. Online-based leaderboards.
- Hardcore Mode - If a player really wants to get the TRUE ending to the story, then they need to earn it by completing this mode (Or if you're just a treasure/achievement hunter). This mode will limit Syg to only his normal form, 25% HP, and a reduced time limit, giving the player only so much time to complete the stage. There would be much more enemies, and the music would be more intense, as well as the stage having an alternate layout and dangerous environments. Hardcore mode aims for a more rhythmic completion, where the player would aim for checkpoints within the music to finish the stage on time, so it makes it important to follow your ears!
Those are all my ideas on game modes, and I really hope I can make this project real!
